Korean War Monument - Tallahassee
Korean War Monument. Ink on Canvas. 11" x 17". Located in the capitol city of Florida, is this set of sculptures created by Designer Shawn Bliss in 1999. What Shawn didn't realize was that the granite ramp like slabs arranged to honor Korean war veterans happens to make for a perfect, unique, and very sought after skate spot. The likes of which have been graced by gods such as Mark Suciu. The argument could be posed that the highest appreciation of this spot comes form the skateboarding community, rather than the korean war community. Perhaps Shawn Bliss should try his hand at skatepark design? Nonetheless this spot serves as a staple of Skateboarding in "the south". Part of an on-going series titled "Boarding Pass". "Boarding Pass" is a series of Posters celebrating some of Skateboarding's most iconic, beloved, and amazing skate spots, world wide.
